What is the LIC Assistant exam?

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) holds an online recruitment exam once per year for the position of LIC Assistant. Those who are successful in the exam go on to work in various offices of the Life Insurance Corporation of India as cashiers, single-window operators, customer service executives, and in other clerical services.

LIC Assistant Exam Pattern- Prelims

There will be 3 sections in the Written Exam, namely: Reasoning, English Language / Hindi Language, Quantitative Aptitude

Preliminary Examination consisting of objective test will be conducted online

  • The main examination will consist of objective tests for 200 marks.
  • The objective test will be conducted in online mode.
  • There will be negative marks of ¼ marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests for the main examination
  • The objective test will have separate timing for every section.
  • Qualification of the Preliminary exam is essential to appear for Mains Exam. However, the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be added to the marks of Mains for selection.
  • Thus, the final selection will be based on the marks obtained by a candidate in Main Examination (Phase II).

The Life Insurance Corporation of India is the country’s largest life insurance company. Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) is holding a national exam to fill the position of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO). It is held every year, but the number of openings varies depending on the requirements.

What is the LIC ADO Exam?

  • LIC is the most reputed government-owned insurance company in India. The full form of LIC ADO is Life Insurance Corporation of India – Apprentice Development Officer. LIC ADO Selection Process

The candidates who clear their Prelims and Mains exams get to the interview stage. Candidates selected from the interview have to go through the following procedure:

LIC ADO Guarantee Bond

This is an undertaking signed before joining as the LIC Apprentice Development Officer by the candidate to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including apprenticeship period)

LIC ADO Apprenticeship Period

The ADO who successfully completes the apprenticeship is suitable for appointment to the service of the LIC as a Development Officer and may be placed on probation. The period of probation is of 1 year and can be extended up to two years.
